“The Secrets of Depression” is the theme of my concentration. I chose this because I have experience with mental illness. What someone reads online about someone else is not always what is actually happening. My concentration focuses on the inside of the mind in the state of depression and my experience with tackling depression. My art is a way for me to express these feelings so they aren’t bottled up inside.

"Girl in The Glass Ball"- In this piece, I show myself held captive in a glass ball, to represent the feeling of not being who you really are and being locked away while in the state of depression.

"Melting Face"- In this piece I drew a self-portrait with a melting face to portray the act of losing yourself. Many of my other pieces have purple hair because that is me and the lack of this symbolic color shows the transformation from my original state of mind to another.

"Who Am I Now?"- In this piece I portray myself and a younger me to show my expectations of my life has changed since I was younger. I am kneeled down before a mirror with a smaller version of me as a reflection, the two are mirroring each other in a way that seems like they are asking each other Is this me?

"Girl On the Train Tracks"- In this piece I show myself completely hopeless and gone with a cloak of darkness surrounding the figure as the train comes hurdling towards her. This message is symbolic as opposed to a literal interpretation.

"Kaleidoscope Eyes"-In this piece I chose to have different figures with kaleidoscope eyes to represent how your mindset changes your perception and the way you see things.
